Hi fellow humans!
In keeping with my commitment to start sending newsletters more regularly, here is my “not-regular-at-all” communication because life has been lifing pretty hard. I’m just trying to keep up.
Soooo, I’m doing a thing next weekend and putting myself in front of an audience, and trying to make them laugh for ten minutes. Why? Because I obviously enjoy doing things that put me in the public eye and open me up to ridicule, judgment, or a nice pooping-my-pants-out-of-fear moment.
I’m terrexcited (cross between terrified and excited). On the one hand, I love making people laugh. On the other hand, I usually do it from the safety of my office, via my keyboard. But hey, what could go wrong, right???
Last night, I decided it would be a good idea to record myself to get a sense of what my delivery looks like and what I actually do with my body on stage. Ya’ll. That was the dumbest idea ever. See the video below for why.
So now I have to worry not only about making people laugh but also about keeping my extra chins and arm fat from stealing the spotlight. Fun times.
Hope you all are doing well and coping alright with the end of summer coming way too soon.
Until next time (I can’t tell you when that will be, but no one is waiting with bated breath for my newsletters anyway, so it doesn’t matter),
Heather
